MSC policy changes

The MSC has a rapidly growing program and a very diverse group of stakeholders that are increasingly interested in our Standards and assessment methodologies. Input from our stakeholders is an integral part of the MSC's policy development process and helps us both identify issues related to the application of our scheme requirements and develop solutions.

Developments in science also lead to changes in best-practice for fisheries management and in demonstrating sustainability. Incorporating these developments are key to the development of our policies and ultimately the relevance and success of our program.

This review and revision to the MSC requirements follows our defined policy development cycle, including consideration and decision by our MSC Technical Advisory Board and Board of Trustees.
